Never Noticed

I've walked by this spot innumerable times. It's the plinth of the great statue of Louis himself in Forest Park. The monument and the Art Museum behind it are on the top of a hill (which, with a flash of imagination, we call Art Hill) so there is unbroken sky behind it.

But I never noticed the obvious composition. It sort of says: welcome to my world.

It's funny when we notice something we didn't see before even though we passed it many times. Nice shot Bob!

I've just been catching up on your protest shots Bob, you captured the angst so well. I'm still hoping for a miracle.. they do happen I'm told 😊

I love this part of the city. I spent a lot of time there when I worked in St. Louis. Back in those days, I only went home to Arizona every other weekend so I'd have the other weekend to spend in the city and many times I'd end up at the art museum or roaming the park. If one of my friends also stayed the weekend, we might even venture further out for a drive to the wine country. That was always fun.
